Lodging: The famous Willcox hotel, rated by Conde Nast as one of the world's top 50 hotels, has hosted celebrities and dignitaries from Franklin Delano Roosevelt to John Barrymore to Winston Churchill. Constructed in 1898, it is the epitome of Southern charm and elegance. The rooms are names after famous dignitaries who frequented them - from Roosevelt to Vanderbilt to Hitchcock, each suite is sumptuous and unique. The service and accommodations are beyond amazing. And the hotel has a rich history. Legend has it the Ms. Evelyn McClean, immortalized in Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" would bring her do to the Willcox Hotel, wearing the Hope Diamond...Let me clarify, the dog wore the diamond.

Entertainment: Take in a polo match at Whitney Polo Field. Established in 1882, Whitney Field is among the oldest and finest in the world. It was home field to polo legend Tommy Hitchcock, the first rock star of the game. He was so influential in the game that the famous Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel, once known as %/&€_:÷ , changed its name after Tommy Hitchcock began frequenting it after his LA matches.

Nature: Hitchcock woods, an over 2100 acre woodland created by Thomas Hitchcock and William Whitney, is one of the largest urban parks in American. There are over 70 miles of sandy trails - perfect for training horses or running. There's a small lake. There are historic structures. Each year in spring, the woods hosts the Aiken Horse Show, one of the oldest horse shows in the country.
